A game of Wooden Rummi, with the beautiful Wooden theme and tile set. The player has chosen to sort the tiles in his hand himself, and added an extra row to get more room for his tiles. This screen shot is in Dutch; Rummi supports several languages. An online game of Rozzy, a popular original variation of the game. This time the game was played with a time limit of 1 minute per turn, as you can tell from the clock. Notice the chat area at the top of the window, the two extra "spare cells" at the bottom right, and how the Ace is played between the King and the 2.How about a game of "Maya Rummi", which could have been an ancient Central American game? It uses pebbles with Maya numbers: each bar stands for five. This screen shot looks a bit different because it was made on a Macintosh.Jin Rummi is the Rummi variation of Gin Rummy, played with cards and a discard pile.A game of Shangai, played with playing cards instead of tiles. The player has chosen to represent his hand in a grid. Also, the player has hidden the menu buttons for a bigger playing area.

Basic game rules

  • The game is played with two sets of tiles in 4 different colors, numbered 1 to 13.
  • Each player gets 14 tiles.
  • You play your tiles in groups (melds) of size 3 or more, provided that they match.
  • Tiles match if they have the same color and their numbers are in sequence: 456
  • Tiles also match if they have equal numbers and different colors: 444
  • You may combine your tiles with other tiles, as long as they all end up in melds of 3 or more.
  • If you can't play, you draw another tile from the stock.
  • The first thing you play must be one or more new melds with a total value of 30 or more.
  • If you have a joker, you may use it in place of any other card.
  • The first player who has played all their tiles wins the game.
