1. Running Rummi

For iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android tablets and phones, we offer the Cub Rummi + app.

Show answer Hide answer Rummi won't start. Nothing happens, or I get a gray window.

Probably, Java is missing. Rummi needs Java to run.

Show answer Hide answer It says it needs Java. What is that?

Java is software first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. It is the underlying technology that powers state-of-te-art software including games, utilities, and business applications. It is avaliable for free for many different computer systems.

Rummi too, will only work if you have Java installed on your computer. If you get a message telling you that you need to install Java first, then you should download Java and install it before you can play Rummi.

Show answer Hide answer When I start Rummi, the screen goes black or orange, or parts of the screen are repeated.

This is due to an error in the video driver (a piece of system software) on your computer.

To fix the problem in the downloaded version of Rummi, you can start Rummi from the Windows Start menu, All programs, Rummi 7, and then choose the option Rummi (NoDD).

TIP: You can drag that icon out of the start menu onto your desktop for a quicker start of Rummi in the future.

Another (and better) possible way to fix the problem is to go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer and download and install the latest video driver software for your type of computer and graphics card.

Show answer Hide answer When I start Rummi, WinRar (or another program) opens. How can I start Rummi?

Some other programs associate the .jar extension (for Java programs) to themselves. Usually you can fix this in the program itself.

Also, the .jar extension will be repaired if you download and install Java again, even if it says that Java is already correctly installed.

2. Buying Rummi

Show answer Hide answer Is Rummi available on a CD-ROM?

Yes, it is. Just go to our buying page and choose one of the options including a CD.

Show answer Hide answer How do I buy Rummi as a gift to someone else?

First, go to our buying page and pick the license that you wish to give.

On the first page of the order process, tick the Give as a gift checkbox. Enter your name, address, and billing information.

On the next page, you can edit the name, address and e-mail address of the person the gift is for (the recipient).

After you complete your order, the recipient will get an e-mail with a link to pick up their gift.

Show answer Hide answer When I enter my license key it says that my name and key don't match. What's up?

You probably made a typing error on your license key or in your name.

Your license key is only valid if you enter the same name as when you purchased your key. To avoid typing errors, you should follow the instructions in the e-mail with your key.

Show answer Hide answer I had to enter my full name when I activated Rummi. Can I change the name afterwards?

No, you can't change the licensed name. That is to discourage people to share their license key with others.

You can however add a new player name and let Rummi use it every time when the game starts.

And when you go and play online, other people will only see your nickname, that is the login name you used when you created your online account.

Show answer Hide answer Why do my opponents seem to have more time for their turn than I have?

Rest assured, they have exactly the same time as you have.

It may seem longer because there are several delays involved:

  • It may take a few seconds before their Rummi sends their move to the game server.
  • It may take a few seconds before your Rummi gets this move from the game server.
  • Finally, when your Rummi is moving the cards it may take longer than it actually took the other player to move these cards.

But in their Rummi, the clock ticks away as quickly as it does for you!
